From VOGUE.com by Liana Satenstein:
Need a lesson in Soviet fashion? Look no further than Vetements’s latest runway, where stylist Lotta Volkova opened the show wearing a short, thigh-skimming brown frock—a look quite reminiscent of the mandatory school uniforms of the Soviet Union. Female students typically wore the compulsory dresses in hues of blue and brown with a white doily-type apron and frilled collar and cuffs. The school uniform fell out of practice after the fall of the Soviet Union, but was reintroduced in Russia in 2013. Last night, it walked out before a series of more traditional versions of—no less anachronistic—Catholic school girl uniforms.
